Pausely

Got a free moment?

Ready to take a better break?

How much time do you have?

How are you feeling?

What would you like?

Turn spare minutes into something worthwhile

Pausely is a free, no-account activity picker for those in-between moments — waiting for a meeting, killing five minutes before dinner, the long quiet afternoon. Instead of defaulting to your phone, answer three quick questions and we'll suggest one thing to do: a short walk, a 10-minute journal, a breathing reset, a call to a friend you've been meaning to catch up with.

Every suggestion comes from a library of 72+ curated activities across five categories — creative, wellness, productive, learning, and social — and is matched to the time you have (5 minutes to an hour), how much energy you've got, and what you actually want from the moment. No feed. No scroll. One thing to do.

How it works

  1. 1. Tell us your moment

How much time you have, how your energy is, and what you'd like out of this pause.

  2. 2. Get one matched idea

A single curated suggestion with step-by-step instructions — not a list to choose from.

  3. 3. Build a pause habit

Track streaks, save favourites, and come back the next time you've got ten minutes free.

A sample of what's in the library. Each page has full steps and a start mode that walks you through it.

Frequently asked questions

What is Pausely?

Pausely is a free web app that recommends a small activity to do when you have spare time. You pick how long you have, how you feel, and what you want from the moment — and it suggests one matched thing to do, drawn from a curated library of 72+ activities across creative, wellness, learning, productivity, and social categories.

How is it different from a random activity generator?

Most generators pick blindly. Pausely filters by time, energy, and goal, then scores candidates using the tags you've liked before and deprioritizes things you've already done recently. You get a single suggestion that actually fits the moment — not a wall of options to scroll through.

Is Pausely free?

Yes. Pausely has no account, no paywall, and no ads. Everything runs in your browser, and your saved list and streaks are stored on your own device.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Pausely works as a website. If you'd like it to feel like an app, you can 'Add to Home Screen' from your browser menu and it'll open in full-screen with an icon — that's the PWA experience.

What if I don't like the suggestion?

Tap Repick and you'll cycle through the rest of the pool that matched your answers. You can also save suggestions for later, or open Explore to browse the full catalog filtered by the same criteria.

Can I use Pausely to stop doomscrolling?

That's a core use case. Instead of opening social media when you're bored, open Pausely — it gives you a concrete, finite thing to do in 5–60 minutes. The Stop Doomscrolling guide explains the habit loop and the pattern-interruption technique behind it.
